Contact Technical Innovations directly to pre-order the CloudWatcher Model 2
cloud detection and sky monitoring system. We can be reached b phone or email to
process the order. Systems will be shipped as soon as our initial inventory is
received - hopefully mid to late October.
The proto-type, (CloudWatcher Model 1), was installed in more than 40
observatories earlier this year for extensive tests is "live" environments for
several months. This "beta test" was successful beyond expectations and received
a resounding endorsement from the astronomers using on a daily basis. The
input from these test users have led to even more features in both hardware and
software. As a result of effort, Model 2 has been developed along with version 5
of the software.
The CloudWatcher and Digital Dome Works software have been modified and
optimized for seamless integration. The DDW version 5.1 software requires only a
simple configuration check box to attach to the CloudWatcher software and begin
using its data in real time. Other configuration fields (weather interlocks) in
DDW provides the basis for automatic control of the observatory.
technical Innovations is currently building the staff and infrastructure
needed to provide complete technical support and repairs, should they be
required, throughout North America.
Yes. The CloudWatcher software is ASCOM compliant and designed to interface
programs like ACP and CCDCommander.
Yes. The software has a sophisticated data display with graphical and
historical elements. It also offers an "alarm" notification option, through a
cell phone if you wish. Astronomers without an automated observatory will find
the CloudWatcher system the perfect "early warning" system to protect their
equipment.
